About ZWU
Zhejiang Wanli University is a provincial university with a history of more than 70 years. It was approved by the Ministry of Education as a new type university to follow the new management mode and operation mechanism in 1999. Currently, ZWU has 13 colleges and 3 campuses, including one overseas campus in Hamburg, Germany; 55 undergraduate programs, 2 postgraduate programs; more than 1,400 faculties and 20,000 full-time students. We emphasize foreign exchange and cooperation to create a strong international atmosphere on our campuses. Up till now, ZWU has established cooperative relations with more than 80 universities and colleges in more than 30 countries and regions. Every year, nearly 400 students go to partner universities for study and exchange. In order to prompt the further development of cooperative programs with foreign universities and speed up the discipline construction of the colleges, we are seeking for qualified English language teachers, Japanese language teachers and also foreign teachers for specialized courses with innovation and development potential, dedication and team spirit to join in. Foreign teachers are not only involved in teaching but also join in other activities such as foreign language corner, cultural seminars, and preparing students for English and other contests. The international staff enjoy variety in their careers and contribute to build a culturally rich campus life.
Essential Responsibilities
· For English/Japanese Language Teacher
Candidates are expected to provide lectures on English/Japanese listening, speaking, and literature. Weekly working hours include 16 lecture periods (45 minutes per period), 2 hours of office work, and additional 2 hours for English/Japanese corner.
· For Foreign Teachers for Specialized Courses
Candidates are expected to contribute to teaching and curriculum development for undergraduate programmes in the relevant field of research (200 hours per semester, 16-18 weeks/semester) and conduct ongoing original research and publications.
Requirements and Qualifications
· For English/Japanese Language Teacher
1. Healthy and no criminal records
2. Native speaker
3. Less than 50 years old
4. Bachelor degree or above
5. At least 2 years of teaching experiences
6. Student-centric mindset and deep interest in education, being optimistic, responsible and easy-going
· For Foreign Teacher for Specialized Courses
1. Healthy and no criminal records
2. Less than 50 years old
3. A Ph.D Degree or preferably postgraduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
4. Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
5. Experience of teaching, tutorial or laboratory work at undergraduate and postgraduate level (optional)
6. At least 2 years of teaching experiences (or TESOL certificate)
7. Student-centric mindset and deep interest in education, being optimistic, responsible and easy-going
